Biography of
Jareb Kinney
Hello everyone, I am Dr. Jareb Kinney, owner of Zero Gravity Counseling PLLC, Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, Clinical Supervisor, and Professor. I am also a veteran who has served in the United States Air Force and Army.
With a diverse background and life experiences, I have had and continue to have the privilege of working with such amazing people who are all unique and diverse, as I have had roles within various settings as a professional. I have worked extensively with at-risk youth in residential treatment, correctional facilities, and emergency youth shelters. I also worked with youth and families in crisis, providing crisis intervention and counseling.
As a veteran, before my honorable discharge from the military in 2016, I was serving as a Behavioral Health NCO, looking at ways to provide quality care for service members and families pre and post-deployment and filling gaps in access to mental healthcare for service members. As a veteran who has worked with service members, I have developed programming and provided treatment for various mental health challenges. Recognizing the profound impact of trauma, I have dedicated myself to delivering effective trauma-focused treatment. I am passionate about staying updated on the latest research and trends in the field, ensuring that my clients receive the highest level of care. For some, it is just having a space to be heard, and someone who can listen and connect with their experiences as an unbiased support.
My approach to counseling is rooted in empathy, compassion, and cultural sensitivity. I strive to create a safe, non-judgmental space where clients can openly explore their experiences and emotions. Through collaboration and individualized treatment planning, I work with clients to foster resilience, promote growth, and empower individuals to overcome obstacles.
Furthermore, as a member of the LGBTQ+ community, I can appreciate the unique challenges and strengths that every individual brings to counseling relationships. I am dedicated to providing affirming and inclusive care to all individuals, irrespective of their background, identity, or orientation.
I look forward to using my experience, knowledge, and passion for mental health to guide and support individuals on their journey toward healing, self-discovery, and personal growth. Together, we can work towards achieving positive outcomes and fostering lasting change.
